My son isn't British after all.
What a day yesterday was. Goodness!! So i got confirmation yesterday that our visas were approved. Bummer!!! So I decided while i had the lady on the phone i would ask about getting Brodie his british passport. The woman then replied told me then i had to just go down to the post office and and fill out some forms. then she said.. hold on wait i have to go and get the book... so we wait a min...
"S: Wasn't your husband born in Africa?"
"M: Yes, but he only lived there a month, his dad was there for a job"
"S: was he born at a RAF base or other military base?"
"M: ummmm no
"S: Was he born at the British Embassy?"
"M: ummm no i don't think so
"S: so he was born in a local hospital?"
"M: ummm i think so.. "
So then its a mad dash to find my husbands Zambian birth certificate.. The woman then goes on to inform me that my husband (the product of 2 british parents) is british by descention. NOT British by birth. In 1995 the law was changed. If you are British by descention and not birth than you have no britishness to pass on. You can be british but your offspring will not be. So therefore my little 2 year old is 100% American.. How funny is that. I know its quiet confusing.. He walked in the door last night and i had to inform him that he was living a lie.. He wasn't truly british after all!! And the only way for my Brodie to get a british passport now is if next year i take a british citizenship exam and go down and sing "God save the Queen" at some ceremony.. hmmmmm i don't think that is going to happen

Here is my Lovely husband on our trip to San Francisco this year. Doesn't he look good? This is actually the January page (top) of my family holiday calandar. I used the same kit to do the actual calendar page. Im just waiting on actual holiday's to put on the page to i can finish it. Im sure i will be posting all those pages as they get finished. So this is the One Perfect Day kit <-- click for kt, by Deb F. Fabulous!!! you can also get her Calendar Overlays there also.
I have a bit of a Toot also.. How cool is this.. I am LO of the week over at UKScrappers. If you scroll down you will the very vivid LO of my neice hunter. That is the LO of the week over at UKS. Im quiet chuffed about this as its primarily a paperscrapping site, so to have my digital stuff recognized is just brilliant!!

Mangled my first comment! Trying again. I love that layout. And it's strange about the Britishness thing!
Well done on getting LO of the week. I like your blog.
